How this pattern score is built
This is an Eight Fates product index, not a universal Saju or BaZi scoring standard. The same inputs always use the same three layers and weights.
- Day Masters
- 28 points
- Compares the two Day Stems through same-element, productive, and controlling Five Element relationships.
- Day Branches
- 40 points
- Compares the two Day Pillar branches using the site's BaZi Spouse Palace layer, including harmony, clash, and elemental relationships.
- Five Element balance
- 32 points
- Checks whether each chart supplies elements that are relatively thin in the other. Unknown Hour Pillars are excluded.
What the comparison does and does not include
Included

- Optional Hour Pillars when local clock times are supplied
- Strongest support, main friction, and a fixed pattern score
Not included
- Korean lunar-date or leap-month conversion
- Birthplace, historical time-zone, or true solar time correction
- A Korean school-specific Saju or gunghap consultation
- A measurement of trust, safety, communication, or shared values
- A prediction that a relationship will succeed or fail
Saju, gunghap, and the BaZi boundary
Saju (사주, 四柱) is the Korean name for the Four Pillars. Gunghap (궁합) is a Korean term commonly used for compatibility matching. BaZi (八字) names the same eight stem-and-branch characters in Chinese, but complete Korean and Chinese reading traditions should not be treated as interchangeable.
This tool compares chart features that travel across the shared structure, then uses the site's Chinese BaZi language. For example, it calls the Day Branch the Spouse Palace and applies Six Harmony, Six Clash, productive, and controlling relationships from the existing BaZi engine.
Treat the result as a structured conversation prompt. A lower number is not a reason to end a relationship, and a higher number is not evidence that consent, safety, communication, or practical compatibility will take care of themselves.
Free comparison · optional personal report
The compatibility result is not the paid product
After the free comparison, you can choose which birth date is yours and continue into that person's free BaZi chart. The optional one-time $4.99 unlock adds five deeper chapters to that personal report; it does not sell a couple verdict or a Korean Saju consultation.

Saju compatibility FAQ
What is Saju compatibility?
Saju compatibility compares two Four Pillars birth charts. In Korean culture, compatibility matching is commonly called gunghap (궁합). Different practitioners and schools may examine the charts with different rules and priorities.
Is Saju compatibility the same as BaZi compatibility?
They begin with the same Four Pillars structure and can both examine Day Stems, Day Pillars, Five Elements, combinations, and clashes. Korean Saju and Chinese BaZi are not identical as complete interpretation traditions.
Is this a Korean gunghap reading?
No. This tool accepts a Saju compatibility search as an entry point, but the calculation choices, labels, fixed score, and interpretation use Eight Fates' documented Chinese BaZi framework. It does not reproduce a Korean practitioner's lineage or consultation.
Do both people need an exact birth time?
No. Both dates are required and both times are optional. When a time is missing, the tool compares the date-based Day Masters and Day Branches and excludes the unresolved Hour Pillar from the displayed Five Element balance.
Can I enter a Korean lunar-calendar birth date?
No. Enter Gregorian civil dates only. If a birth record is lunar, convert it first with a reliable calendar that preserves the correct year and any leap-month status.
Does this tool correct birth time by city?
No. This focused two-chart form does not ask for birthplace, historical time zone, daylight saving, longitude, or true solar time. A result near a day, hour, or solar-term boundary can differ from a practitioner or a place-aware chart.
Does a high compatibility score predict a successful relationship?
No. The score is a transparent Eight Fates structural index, not a traditional universal scale or a prediction. It cannot measure communication, trust, safety, shared values, circumstances, or effort.
What is free and what costs $4.99?
The two-chart pattern score, Day Masters, Day Branches, element layer, strongest support, and main friction are free with no account. The optional $4.99 purchase is a fuller Chinese BaZi report for one selected personal chart, not a paid verdict about the couple.
